Chinese officials publish propaganda picture with inspectors cut and pasted over new road
This could possibly be the worst doctored picture in internet history.
Three Chinese officials appear to be proudly showing off their newly laid road in Huili, south-west China.
But even somebody who's never used a computer before would notice that something, or more like everything, doesn't look quite right in the government's propaganda image.
Photoshopped : This clearly doctored picture of three Chinese officials proudly showing off their newly laid road has attracted international ridicule after a local council published it
For the three middle-aged men appear to be levitating several inches above the ground and they are bigger than the rural surroundings.
Even the colours of their clothes are a different shade to the scenery and the edges of their bodies are blurred.
With a history of China's state propaganda, viewers of the picture could have be forgiven for assuming that this was another attempt to deceive the people.
But it appears that there was a far more innocent, even if slightly bizarre explanation for how the photograph came to be.
